History

Gonzaga University has fielded a baseball team for over a century. The first documentation of a baseball game involving Gonzaga was on June 21, 1890, when the Gonzaga TEAM defeated the Winston Nine, 7-4. The documentation came from the diary of Father Mackin.

Today, Gonzaga continues to follow the tradition of ‘America’s Game.’ Recently the Bulldogs’ have earned their inaugural West Coast Conference regular-season and Championship Series titles, clinching it in 2009. That year the Bulldogs appeared in their eighth NCAA Tournament appearance in 1971.
